I can add that if you need to haul in a car, ammo cans are perfect if you
get the bigger ones, they will hold any size smoker.  I have a rocket can,
air tight, no smell and enough room with a divider I can store brushes,
hive tools, lighters, and smoker fuel all in one box that happens to make a
nice stool in a pinch.

I'm partial to planer/jointer shavings to start and pine wood chips for
fuel, I add oak scrap if I'm going to be working a long time.
