This was an informal experiment, starting with two vaped hives that were
part of another experiment, and 4 more hives in another yard once I had
tracked mite reduction in the first two.
I didn't take brood measurements on the hives, but did make sure that they
had brood in both boxes (they were double deeps), roughly 16-18 frames
covered with bees. I only performed regular inspection of the first two
(that have gotten 8 vaporizations to date)--their brood and adult
populations look fine. These hives were in the dry Calif foothills, and
the experiment spanned the honeyflow and into late-summer dearth.
