a Mr Linder snip...
The statement she made was that the economic threshold for mites in late summer is 1% (3 per 300 wash) That seems completely off to me. I would be tickled to see 3's in my mite washed this time of year, While I understand a 3 in April would be bad. Not comprehending how a level of 1% in aug is a bad number???
Any thoughts??
my thoughts and question...
seems a bit low to me but certainly as a question it would be good information to get from the more commercial folks on BEE_L. in the past the base line has always seem a bit low and of course when you spin the question into 'economic threshold' and not some bee hive health issue you would need to include some $ for benefit and gain. I am just about to get to the time of year to count mites myself and establishing a base line would be useful information.
anyway I would enjoy seeing people thoughts on this topic..
