Just thumbing through a Gleanings from 1919 that I purchased today, I found at least 10 breeders including Miller who advertised their queens in the following categories. Apparently, everyone sold queens this way back in the day. Another question is when did the industry stop selling this way and why?

Nueces County Apiaries

Untested $1.25
Select Untested $1.50
Tested $2.00
Select Tested $2.75

As advertised in Gleanings - September 1919 page 621
