Many of our club members out here in Western Washington seemed to see a similar pattern to what Bill Truesdell described of very few mites until late Fall and then skyrocketing numbers.  That is definitely what I saw in my hives.  This pattern seemed quite different than in past years where mites were more of an ongoing issue.
