CONCLUSION: Beekeepers have joint disease apparently related to bee stings.
> Etiopathogenesis is unknown.
I'm not clear as to why the doctors would conclude that arthritis in a
group of beekeepers up to 66 yrs of age was due to bee stings. Look at
some of the signs: "Radiological study showed ... bone sclerosis,... bony
erosions, subchondral cysts, geodes, osteophytes [bone spurs], and joint
narrowing." Those bone deformations don't form overnight, so I'm curious
why the doctors associated them with stings from honey harvesting in
August. Much more likely that they were due to neonicotinoid exposure.
