I would be sure that you would not be getting SHB through the pollen patties. The egg would have to last through the production phase and then be still viable. As others have said the SHB are in the hive and then feed on the patty. That is my experience.

Freezing kills eggs, larvae and beetles. See https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industry/agriculture/species/invasive-animals/other/small-hive-beetle I used a refrigerated container (reefer) to control both SHB and wax moth.
