Thanks for this discussion Charlie.

When I try to get good information from some of the other chat groups, they
seem to be just that--people just wanting to chat. Heavy on words and
opinions, but very short on facts, evidence, or usable information.

What I like about Bee-L is that it tends to quickly sort the grain from the
chaff. For those of us not looking for recreational chatting, Bee-L
provides a forum to obtain and discuss factual beekeeping information.
It's the most scientific discussion group that I can find. "Scientific"
meaning logical arguments supported by evidence.

That leaves plenty of room for debate, but supported by evidence, rather
than parroted or poorly thought out opinions. It also gives the lurkers an
idea of how those with a scientific bent discuss matters.

One tip (for everyone)--*please* take a moment to review your post before
hitting "send." I sometimes spend an hour researching, editing, and
rewriting a post (I just edited this one twice over).

Now I need to scroll down to the three little dots, and delete the previous
post to which I am responding--it's not that difficult (and perhaps raises
the bar for those able to get a post by the moderator).
