Take samples from any failing hive that still has bees. Record degree of failure - down to handfull of bees, about half collapsed, etc. The viruses that run thru a collapse tend to be found in the failing, not the failed colony bees. The survivors are often young bees with low virus loads.
Anyway, if you can get at least 100 bees from a couple of collapsed, a couple of failing, and a couple of ok hives (that's six bagged samples - in plastic Ziploc type bags, frozen as soon as possible and kept frozen - contact me - I may have an option to analyze that hasn't been available for some years, but a new lab is setting up to provide the service.
