I read most of the study and I believe it would be fairy easy to make a
machine with no computers involved to mimic the peas behavior using photo
sensors, drives and servos. You could refine it even more with some NOR
circuit or other logic gates.

It would demonstrate that it could "learn".

Truth is, you could say the the pea seed "learned' how to grow, which to
me, is the greater miracle.

Life is like that.
