Read with interest the Catch the Buzz article on queens being infected DWV
during mating.

 

One comment was "increases the risk of the whole colony succumbing to the
syndrome Colony Collapse Disorder because of a venereal disease"   It is my
understanding that one of the tell-tale signs of CCD is the small number of
bees, including the queen, left in the hive.  So if the queen dies and the
colony dies out is this CCD?
