This is some hard proof of what many dismissed as anecdotal.

So, in addition to drift and the robbing of collapsing colonies, we have
this mechanism for re-infestation of otherwise "well-managed" colonies.

Even more reason to continue to make outreach efforts to the nuisance
beekeepers among one's neighbors to de-program the varroa deniers, and
educate people past the cult beliefs about "One Weird Trick" that will keep
their colonies safe from varroa.
