Subject: Whiteware
I don't know if the original poster of the request for
information on whiteware realized what a can of worms would be opened
by such a request. I have thus far refrained from wading into the
discussion because I've had a rather full week and because I was
waiting to see if someone was going to articulate my position on
whiteware and save me the trouble (i.e. intellectual laziness brought
on by too much work this semester). In any event, Bill Adams, Cara
Blume, and Alasdair Brooks have put forth components of my position on
whiteware, so I will just add my vote to their already posted
information.
T.J. Hammer recently asked something about taphonomy on historic
sites. He might try contacting Terry Martin, who is a faunal
analyst/archaeologist at the Illinois State Museum (sorry I don't have
the phone/address with me at present).
Well, thats about all for now.
Tom
