I don't know about other states, but Bill's observation that commercial
guys tend to keep their yards away from where most small-scale yards are
likely applies in general.
I've heard from other commercial beekeepers that they keep an eye on those
beekeepers who are known to have a history of poor mite control, and move
their hives away from mite-heavy yards in late summer, in order to avoid
the consequences of mite drift.
