Depends where you are and what you want from your bees. Here, it's
-10F. I'm stationary. I don't do anything to disrupt the ability of the
cluster to stay together or move around. Right now hives are broodless and
I want them to stay that way until the maple buds begin to swell and color
up in February. Our bees will cluster/break cluster on a weekly basis
through May. When I do put pollen sub on, it's at the edge of the brood
nest, usually between the two brood chambers in the rear third.
