I don't have any colonies that are diseased, so the issue is subpar strength. A four to six frame colony isn't big enough. It would be stupid to mix diseased bees with healthy.
What I said was: "they could be combined with another -- but not another dud! Better still, shake the bees out. "I didn't say they *should* be combined with another, I said they *could* -- and suggested it was a fool's errand.
Hardly anybody wants to hear me say, take em to the warehouse and gas em, so I didn't.
