Might want to check with the California SHPO's office to see what kind of information they have on preservation tax credits and tourism dollars associated with historic properties - they should be tracking that.

I am trying to prepare a Return on investment analysis for historic preservation. Has anyone had to put a monetary value to the loss of a historic building in the context of loss of civic pride, loss of tourist revenue from degraded historic districts? If so, what formulas did you use?
