Karl,
Can you be more specific about the type(s) of data your student is
looking for? I have done a lot of work in central and western PA and some
of the historical contexts I and others have prepared may be of some use
(in a comparative sense).
As for South Georgia, there are a number of historical/folklife sources
available. I cannot get into the online database I use right now, but if
I recall, there are books on the folklife of the Altamaha and Ogeechee
Rivers. And, Kay Cothran's work on the Okeefenokee may point toward some
sources.
