Dear Histarchers,
I was approached by a representative from a Chicago-area synagogue today after they discovered a ~100-year-old cannonball safe (weighing an estimated 1.5 tons) in the ground within their parking lot. This was revealed during a construction project to install a parallel sewer line—a project that cannot be delayed.
If any one has experience with or recommendations regarding the “safe” opening of said safe, please contact Naomi Richman, [log in to unmask] They are looking for help ASAP with this because of the construction project’s timing. They did get some local locksmith recs, but considering the specialized nature of this request, I appeal to your collective expertise on their behalf.
Thanks,
Rebecca
