Several post have mentioned, this and different levels of sugars. Do we
know this to be true? Is there actual data that shows levels of sugars
being different?
We tap maples here also, in Il silver maple is the common tree. While its
sugar level is slightly lower than red or sugar maples. It does seem to be
consistent no matter the type. Volumes and flows will vary greatly, trees
along the creeks or wet ground produce more than hilltop. As I would expect
volumes of nectar to vary wildly dependant on weather, but does the "value"
or sugar content of the nectar actually change?
