We are delighted to welcome Paola Schiappacasse to the DAACS Conversation stage this Friday, October 29 at 12 pm ET.

Paola's talk, Decolonizing legacy collections in the Caribbean: a view from Puerto Rico, is the third in the Fall 2021 DAACS Conversation Series on Archaeological Research with Legacy Collections.

Register here to join the conversation with Paola: https://bit.ly/3mfdQzW

Each talk in the Conversation Series on Doing Research with Legacy Collections focuses on the ways in which archaeologists work with legacy archaeological collections. Join us in conversation with archaeologists whose research is built on collections excavated by other scholars, whether those excavations were conducted 3, 30, or 130 years ago.

Other talks in the series include:

November 12: Carolyn Heitman (University of Nebraska) Building and Rebuilding: Legacy Collection Case Studies from the American Southwest. Register Here: https://bit.ly/3EjRJiY

December 10: Christa Beranek (University of Massachusetts Boston, and Ana Opishinski, Plimoth Patuxet Museums) Deetz's New England Legacy: Digitizing the Plimoth Patuxet Collections. Register Here: https://bit.ly/3lsW3U9

Date TBD: Ayana Omilade Flewellen, ( University of California Riverside and Society of Black Archaeologists) Enslavement and Freedom in Texas: using legacy collections to unravel narratives of freedom at the Levi Jordan Plantation and the Ransom Homestead. Registration Link to be posted soon.
Please note that livestream participation is limited to 300 people per talk.

We look forward to seeing you. No prior knowledge or experience required.

Best Regards,

Jillian
