Reading the latest post on Bee Culture Magazine I ran into the following troubling thought:
"Canadian beekeepers are currently concerned about mites developing resistance to amitraz and thymol and exhibited efficacy rate below 30% when used under fall conditions1.”

Reading the study it appears that Thymovar, a strip based thymol product was used, and that the efficacy was poor. Is this a because of thymol resistance, or a poorly designed product?
I’ve seen high efficacy when using thymol, specifically Apiguard in late August in Denver, Colorado. Is anybody seeing thymol resistance or low efficacy when using a product like Apiguard?
