Hello Everyone

If anyone has interested students or knows individuals interested in
attending an archaeological field school abroad this summer, would you
please forward this information?

Our summer archaeological field school on the small Island of Rousay in the
Orkney Islands of Scotland still has a few seats open and we'd love to fill
them if we can. Students can earn up to 6 credits (undergrad or 3 grad
level) while studying with us. The site contains a Neolithic Chambered
Tomb (c. 3000 BC) -- which we intend to open this summer, connected Iron
Age structures, Pictish smithy, Viking remains, and a Late Norse hall.
It's very exciting

Our site not only teaches students about archaeological field methods: site
survey, excavation, soil sampling, metallurgy, paleobotanicals,
zooarchaeology, and much more; but we also focus on
collecting environmental data regarding sea level rise, climate change,
coastal erosion, etc.

No experience necessary. We are set up to teach methods, but we also take
advanced students who will take on more responsibility. Being an
anthropology major is not a requirement, just being interested and ready to
excavate full-time is required.
