a Przemek Skoskiewicz snip... The powerful EFSA commission (European Food Safety Authority) has proposed to ban the use of 2/3 (imidacloprid and clothiandin) neonicontinoids: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/mar/23/europe-poised-for-total-ban-on-bee-harming-pesticides <https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/mar/23/europe-poised-for-total-ban-on-bee-harming-pesticides>. This would apply to the 28 countries of the European Union. my question... Does this include greenhouse grown crops? I was told by a phd type plant scientist here (Texas A&M University) that the former 'ban' on neonics did not include greenhouse grown crops. Evidently the practice of starting many crops in greenhouses is much more common in Europe than in the US. *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
