That is, 3 out 4 swarms die the first winter and almost 20%
of the survivors die each subsequent winter. He estimated
colony lifespan at 5 years. Obviously, a good nest site
would be repopulated.
Agreed. But that wont stop the natural debate crowd! Seriosly though. Is moisture remval a portion of that? Add to the fact that most matural cavities are by thier formation watar traps and its a confusing picture when we start to claim a tree cavity is better
