I've experimented a lot to attempt to attract bees to water sources. A
porous substrate seems to be preferred. A little solar fountain seems to
help--a bit of movement of the water. No so much luck with salt(s) or
lemongrass oil. Bark or some other organics seem to help, esp some aquatic
plant roots with adhering smelly mud. I'd love to hear any other success
stories, as we need to move yards of bees out every year due to water
complaints from neighbors.
