Medhat, I'm afraid that you missed my point entirely.  I do not advocate
allowing ANY colonies to die or be impacted by lack of mite control.  What
I'm saying is that in an operation of diverse genetics, if one were to
sample every colony, one would likely find a tiny percentage of colonies
suitable for breeder stock,  Since those very few colonies would not
require mite treatment (since their mite counts were so low) it would not
impact the rate of winter loss in any way.  But it would identify stock
suitable for breeding from the next season.
