Randy, I am glad that you said that! I think we are all struggling here - both scientists and lay people. As reasonably well educated beekeeper, my main concern in trying to understand whether my methods are helping or hindering. Given that I do not seem to have a varroa problem, or at least not of unmanageable proportions, I feel that I am probably doing some things right - but it would be good to have a clear understanding of the science behind it all.
Are those without a problem doing the 'right thing', or have they just got lucky with the local variant of DWV?
