The other thing we have to have in mind when talking about lepidopteras are
"generations". On a bad year one can have up to three generations but on a
good year there could be up to 5 generations. Each generation covers a
bigger distribution area following weather.
On a long and narrow country like Chile it is easy to see this generations
and the migration from north to south (south to north on the wrong side of
the world ;)
