My frustration is with the anecdotal transfer found in most beginner
beekeeper books is that they advise treating for Nosema, even
prophylactically!! 

 

Also, very few experienced beekeepers test for it  yet routinely blame
Nosema for causing diarrhea when they have not tested for it. None of the 15
or so "high" positives that we found last year  in a survey had diarrhea.
Although I did find one diarrhea smear that had Nosema in it.
