" There is both a forager day life, and an kilometer life."

Can you tell us more? I used to think bees simply wore their wings out and could not fly home at some point. I no longer see near as many bees with tattered wings as I used to see even when mites are near zero. Hardly saw any at all this summer with worn wings. But every nectar flow was horrid locally with the exception of birds foot trefoil which was fine until the government mowed the ditches and ended the bloom. Worst summer I have ever seen here. Tulips only had a light bloom this year. Two poor days on locust then rain, cold and wind knocked all the bloom off. Bass wood did not bloom at all this year. Two average days on golden rod in September and a few poor days. My strong hives lost at least 50 pounds between July 15 and Oct 1. If they can not fly much they can not wear their wings out.
