Hi Jerry,

>After CCD first got national media attention, a couple long-time Alabama
>beekeepers contended that their law went into effect after an incident
>occurred in their state
>that was very similar, if not the same, as CCD that occurred some years
>before the 2006 event.

I talked to John Mynard this AM who was inspector when the disappearing
disease hit Alabama.

This was in 1990 and at the same time of the tracheal mite infestation.

I had quite a few hives that were just empty of bees.

I had about 50 total and at least 6-8 and, to the best of my memory were
just void of bees.

Tracheal mites may have been the reason for disappearing, I do not know.

I just remember it was bad.

Lionel
