a Mr Linder snip..
May be a very over simplification, but is it possible just the raising of brood levels is a bigger factor than pollen?

my comments...
imho there is nothing wrong with simplification.... question of bigger or smaller might be problematic. would more bees also mean less stress and also fewer task that don't get done and of course easier heat/cold regulation. I would also add the obvious simplification in the difference in the various season's flying time (and of course the reduction in risk from predation while flying).
