I don't usually see SHB in my hives when they are in NY. Maybe one or two in all of my 500 some hives. My hives Winter in SC and I hardly ever see SHB in my hives when they are down there either. When I went through an apiary last week, when I got to the last two out of ten pallets I found about a dozen SHB in one hive on one pallet and then about the same in one hive on the last pallet. They weren't causing any damage, just crawling around on the top bars. I just thought it was interesting that they were all in two hives out of 40 and none in any others. And none in any other yards, so far.
