That statement should have some qualifiers. The data indeed indicated that
there was a hormetic effect at very low doses. But that doesn't mean that
treatment necessarily makes the infection level worse. Plenty of recent
studies with N ceranae support that fumagillin can be of benefit.
FWIW, I have no financial interest in fumagillin, and do not normally use
it myself.
