Not sure what is meant here. Transfer of heat from where to where? A bee cluster always has combs in it, which insulate from cold as well as retain heat, depending on whether they are inside or outside of the cluster. But I can’t see how plastic would be an impediment, any more than a wall between two warm rooms would be.
