I would just add if the treatment is not  needed I would not do it. Therefore 4 applications would not be necessary. The idea of one treatment per week for at least two weeks to cover the capping period this it will allow  capped bees and developed mites  to emerge and then treat mites. Four weeks concept is to cover two brood cycles. I hope that is clear.
