Talking to our farm feed nutritionist the other day about animal nutrition. We got on to the topic of the added probiotics in our cattle feed.  It is in our cattle feed for a bunch of reason and I am not touching on that issue with this post.  But what I would like feedback from this board in regards to probiotics is it's apparent shelf life after the probiotic is mixed into the wet patty and stored until consumed by the honeybees.  
The probiotics in our animal feed is kept in its dormant state by keeping it dry, to which the bacteria activates immediately after ingestion.  So it would seem to me the bacteria added to patties would also come out of its dormant state immediately after it's mixed into the wet patty.  
How long will that added bacteria remain viable after the probiotic is mixed into the supplement patties?  "now with probiotics" seems to be the latest sales pitch...
