During the ongoing debate concerning the safety of neonics a variety of evidence has been put forward by each side. This evidence tends to fall into one of three categories:
Scientific evidence: Results of peer reviewed scientific experiments.
Anecdotal evidence: Many beekeepers suspect neonics are killing their bees based on personal observation.
Ground truthing: Many beekeepers suspect neonics are harmless to bees based on personal observation.
The latter two categories of evidence are weak compared to scientific evidence yet ground truthing is often hailed as being as good as, or better than scientific evidence. It is outstanding, fantastic evidence; it is the king of evidence; it is the kind of evidence the trumps all other evidence, it is such good evidence it will make your head spin etc.
Two groups of beekeepers but only one knows the truth I guess.
Evidently confused,
Ted
