> discuss the issue of absconding
>
A little hive history might be handy to help understand the absconding
matter.
1. In what part of the country were your bees located?
2. What was the origin of the hive and how long were you able to tend the
hive?
Was this a hive bought from a friend, a package or a nuc and when was it
acquired? When were the bees first noticed as missing?
3. Was the hive monitored for diseases or pests in the last 6 months?
Are there any images of frames with or without brood and/or disease from
the recent past?
4. Were there any sort of treatments for disease or pests (varroa, small
hive beetle, etc) over the last 6 months?
5. Do you have access to a local mentor/advisor through your local bee
club, local college, state extension, etc. that might be able to look
inside the hive for clues?
Looking forward to hearing a little more about this hive.
