Not sure this is CCD but its definitely a very odd case. Anyone here doing actual research or able to provide help, email me and I will give you the contact info for the beekeeper.

Story:
3-400 completely empty of bees hives.
No dead in the hive or out front.
No queens
Brood still present
food in hives
Neighboring hives strong and healthy
Different yards
No unusual mite levels
Not moved recently
Checked 7-10 days ago

A customer and friend of mine from Alma GA just called. Hes panicked a bit of course! they have a lot of totally empty hives. they run a commercial operation with almost exclusively pollination of blueberries and very light honey production.
Apparently they are having issues in several different yards, some small yards totally void of bees, and others mixed bags.
State bee inspectors came out and took some samples. they say might levels are normal, no signs of foulbrood.
these guys are relatively inexperienced. Running 2500 hives or so as a sideline so far. In questions they have not seen any real sings of dwindeling, just empty hives.

The questions are Is they any particular samples to take or look for since the trail is hot?? any researchers want samples?? and any suggestions on what to do with the empty hives? obviously they are a bit nervous about that also.

Charles
