With the Presidential Task Force soon to hold planning sessions, instead of
simply throwing up our hands lamenting that taxpayer dollars will be
wasted, why don't we use this opportunity to make suggestions for
meaningful change?

Right now, with presidential backing, we could press the EPA to revise
their recent (and inadequate) pollinator protection label.

We could link farm insurance benefits to forage planting as a quid pro quo
for taxpayer dollars.

We could ask for greater support for Extension promotion of IPM.

We could ask for sentinel apiaries to be established across the country to
monitor adverse pesticide use.

Talk is cheap. How many of those posting are actually taking action to
help guide the process?
