Yes, the wax moths do come North on the weather fronts which come up from the South.
A bee keeper friend who is also a farmer confirmed it and added this bit of advice. Pay attention to the agricultural reports which pertain to the pheromone traps which are placed in your area to check for the presence of the cutworm moths. Once you hear agricultural reports of the cutworm moths being trapped, it means the wax moth (usually the lesser wax moth in our area) is here as well or not far behind.
