There is a huge problem in the UK at present from what can only be called misleading information at best.  The demand for native bees, by which I mean A.m.m., is substantial - particularly from beginners.  The problem is that many do not know that not all black bees are A.m.m., so we have imported bees, multiplied up in this country and then sold as 'British black bees'.  Yes, they are raised here and they are black - but they are not what the beekeeper thinks that he or she was buying.
