Interesting to see phorid flies feeding on a carcass of a dead honeybee.
They say it is common in Australia to see phorid flies feeding on insects
caught in spider webs. Are they really feeding on the bee, or laying
eggs perhaps?
Please, if someone knows what species of Australian phorid fly is depicted
on the photo, that would be interesting to research for an article.
Is this phorid fly related or the same species as the phorid fly
recently discovered in America infesting bees?
Are the phorid fly in America known to feed on dead honeybees?
