From "Control of Varroa. A guide for New Zealand Beekeepers" by Mark Goodwin
& Michelle Taylor revised Edition
In reference to applying OA in 1:1 sugar syrup...
Oxalic acid is a corrosive and poisonous acid like formic acid.
The oxalic acid does not work through evaporation. The action of oxalic acid
is systemic where the bees consume the oxalic acid-sugar syrup and the
varroa that feed on these bees then die.
This book does not cover the heated evaporation/fogging method.
