There is no reason to paint the neonic issue in black or white. I can't
think of anyone who has ever suggested that neonics or any other
insecticide are not problems for bees. The problems with planting dust
from corn are well documented and indisputable. Ditto for foliar sprays of
neonics, as well as some drenches.
As with any pesticide, the devil is in the details. IMHO, we should focus
upon the details of application to cause minimal environmental harm, rather
than calling for simplistic blanket bans.
