I have 15 year old tulip poplar and loblolly pine boxes that I painted
in and out with mineral oil that are still sound. We don't have
northern winters here in South Carolina, but we do have plenty of
termites and such. They are fine as long as they are on the bees....

Has there been consideration of using just plain beeswax or a mixture of melted beeswax and propolis in painting the interior of the supers? I am loath to use copper napthenate where bees have direct exposure to it.
