"at least here when day time air temperature reach 100 mating success falls
to about 0."
All in all sounds like some real interesting research. What is the max temp a queen, worker or drone can stand before they die? Anyone know? Seems to me like in TX sun and air at 100 deg a flying bee could get to some pretty high internal temps that might clobber its overall metabolism pretty fast. If 92 (brood temp) is normal for a bee 100 deg air is a significant fever. Or am I thinking too much from a mammal perspective?
