Hi All
Small hive beetles are not found in most of southern Ontario. They
have, however, crossed the St Clair, Niagara, & St Lawrence rivers and
established themselves in those areas adjacent to the US border. The
movement of hives and nucs from those infected areas will certainly
risk transferring SHB to the new locations. I imagine that queens
sold from those areas also present a risk, although smaller. What
about queen cells? Do SHB enter queen cells before they are capped,
and emerge with the virgin in a new location?
